I started by pulling out the stamp sets I wanted to use: Gerda Steiner Designs Hippo In Disguise, Craftin Desert Divas Caped Crusaders, Clearly Besotted Caped Cuties, Jaded Blossom Super Hero 2, Jaded Blossom Super Hero (revisited, & Fiskars Kapow.
Then I stamped out 7 of the character images from the Hippo in Disguise, Caped Crusaders and Caped Cuties sets on Recollections 65# white cardstock and colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers, before fussy cutting them with scissors.
Next I took 7 top folding A2 card bases made from Recollections 110# white cardstock and used my MISTI stamping tool to stamp the building images from Clearly Besotted Caped Cuties in a border at the bottom of my card bases. I used light grey markers to color the buildings and then used a Yellow Sakura Glaze Pen to make the windows look like they're lit.
I used a 3.5 inch square sun ray panel die from my stash to create a custom stencil. I then used Distress Oxide Inks to stencil ombre rays on each of the cards above the buildings, leaving room below for my sentiments.
Next I stamped the explosion text bubble from the Fiskars Kapow stamp set using Hickory Smoke Distress Ink and colored shadows on the smoke with grey markers and colored in the explosion bubble around the rays with a yellow marker.
I used Versafine Onyx Black and Candied Apple Distress Oxide inks to stamp sentiments above the buildings from the Fiskars Kapow, Jaded Blossom Super Hero 2 and Super Heroes (Revamp) stamp sets.
Finally I used Woodware 1mm foam mounting tape to pop up my colored super critters and adhere them within the explosion image. As a final touch, I used my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Overlay pen to add some glitter to the white part of the explosion clouds.

I hope you've enjoyed reading about this collection of cards I created to send to my Zebra Buddies. If you are a cardmaker who enjoys creating so much that you always seem to have a surplus of cards in your stash, I would encourage you consider joining the Zippy Zebra's Smiles and Hugs community and committing to sending those extra cards to kids that really could use an extra reason to smile each month.
