Today I am sharing Day 2 of my Holiday Card Series--which also happens to be my Design team project of the week for White Rose Crafts! I created two cards this time, featuring the same image and sentiment. I was able to achieve a slightly different look by switching up the pattern paper I chose.
I started by stamping this adorable "Winter Bunny" by Lawn Fawn at either end of a piece of Recollections 65#, white cardstock that was 4 inches x 5.25 inches, using my Original Misti stamp positioning tool. Using the Misti, I was able to leave the stamp on the door and just rotate my paper 180 degrees to ensure the bunny was in the same position at both ends.
I then did some simple coloring using my Spectrum Noir Vintage markers, and added some shimmer with the Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Sparkle pen. I used a hillside die to draw a light pencil line from one side to the other, so the hill passes "behind" the bunny, and fussy cut it out to look like partial die cutting.
I chose one sheet of "Perfectly Plaid, Winter" paper by Lawn Fawn and one sheet of Echo Park "I Love Winter" paper as my backgrounds, cut to 4 inches x 5.25 inches and mounted them to two A2 size, top folding, portrait card bases, created with 110# Recollections cardstock. I then popped up the hillside on 1mm thick foam tape from Dollar tree, to give just a tiny bit of dimension.
I chose an old sentiment from my stash and stamped it onto white card stock using Scrapberry's Teal Shimmer Pigment Ink. I then trimmed the sentiments down and fish tailed the end to create a banner. I colored around the edge of the banners using the DP2 Spectrum Noir marker to make the sentiment pop, before using foam tape to mount them to my card bases.
I knew I wanted to keep embellishments simple, so I added 3 blue snowflake sequins and clear iridescent glitter glue to the edge of the hillside, the center of the snowflakes and to the sled trails. I also added more Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen to the sentiment banner and shadow under the sled.
I pulled the design inside with a 1.5 inch strip of the patterned paper from the front and a white panel, stamped with a simple Merry Christmas sentiment layered on top.
